Lewis Hamilton, the young, charismatic, and disciplined Formula 1 driver proved that he’s the driver to beat and the one to watch.
Fresh off a team win as well as taking the #1 spot at the Turkish Grand Prix Hamilton raced across the finish line at the Canadian Grand Prix in Montreal to nab his second win in a row 13th career win overall.
Hamilton got off to a slow start in the race and after a pit stop during the 26th lap he got back on the track and made up for any lost time. Winning the race solidified team McLaren’s renewed dominance in the sport and gives them hope for more wins in the new season.
After his win two weeks ago in Turkey, Hamilton promised that the McLaren team would be a dominant force once again in Formula 1 after a series of losses. After today’s race he proved himself to be a man of his word.
After he crossed the finish line and started his cool down lap he radioed back to his crew saying, Great job guys, thank you very much for this weekend,” adding “We have to keep pushing hard.”
Winning this race puts Hamilton in the at the top of the leader’s board for points in Formula 1 with his total points adding up to 109.
