President Obama Meets with Arizona Governor

President Barack Obama will meet with Arizona Governor Jan Brewer in their first face to face meeting since the governor supported and signed the states highly publicized and controversial immigration reform law.

In previous statements President Obama has vented his frustration with the law saying that the law was misguided and even worrying if the law might use racial profiling and only target perceived Latino Americans. There has also been talk of a potential legal challenge from the Obama Administration.

On Tuesday Gov. Brewer remarked to CNN’s John King that she was not worried about a legal challenge stating, “We’ll meet you in court. I have a pretty good record of winning in court.”

Attorney General Eric Holder has yet to make a statement as to whether the federal government would intervene and take legal action as well, however the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) is getting a court case prepared to challenge the law.

Brewer has also made clear that she has no intentions of suspending the law even though President Obama has increased the amount of U.S. National Guard troops at the Mexico border.
