President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama welcomed Mexico’s president Felipe Calderón & his wife, the first lady of Mexico Margarita Zavala.
The Obama’s second official state dinner was an elegant and well planned out affair, which went down without any hitches due to tighter security and a clear guest list.
A bevy of celebrities and politicians rubbed shoulders exchanging glances and conversation across the tables. Those in attendance include actress and comedian Whoppi Goldberg, journalist and magazine editor Gayle King, who was accompanied by Newark Mayor Cory Booker.
The guest were treated to the sounds of well accomplished performers including the non-stop stage maven Beyoncé Knowles whose husband Jay-Z was also in attendance.
The menu consisted of some of the finest cuisine including Oregon Wagyu beef in Oaxacan back mole, black bean tamalon and grilled green beans.
