Anita Baker Plots Return

Legendary singer-songwriter, producer and performer, Anita Baker, a.k.a. “The Songstress,” will be heading back into the studio to record and mix her next smash record.

Baker recently announced that she’ll be heading down to Nashville, Tennessee to record and mix her newest set of material since 2004’s My Everything.

The new album will be released on the iconic Blue Note label, and Baker has promised fans that it will be something great and something not expected.

Speaking of starting work on the new album Baker said Monday, “I’m going to Nashville to mix it up, shake it and see what comes out.” If her previous albums are any measure of what’s to come the newest album will be nothing short of spectacular.

Member of Hip-Hops royal court, Snoop Dogg will also make a cameo appearance, helping Baker out on a remake of Curtis Mayfield’s classic “Give You My Love,” a version that Baker herself calls “big and lush.” The legendary George Duke is also slated to make an appearance on the album.

Recently taking the time to state her reasons for choosing Nashville as the place to record, Baker said, “…they still know how to make a record in analog.”
