The late King of Pop, Michael Jackson, and the Queen of Soul, Aretha Franklin, will be honored this summer by one of the nations foremost theaters.
The world renowned Apollo Theater will honor Jackson and Franklin in a ceremony scheduled to take place at the theater June 14. Franklin is expected to attend the ceremony.
The event will take place at the historic theater, which celebrates it’s 75th anniversary this year, and will also honor singer Marc Anthony and his wife, singer and actress, Jennifer Lopez, with the humanitarian award.
Jackson, along with his brothers, as members of the boy group The Jackson 5, made their Apollo debut at the famous Amateur Night in the late 1960s, for which they won.
