Superstar singer-songwriter, producer, and actor will.i.am is set to spearhead the educational aspirations of four very blessed people.
The 34 year old, co-founder of the mega-group the Black Eyed Peas, is set to pay the college tuition of four students through his i.am.scholarship fund, which also will take care of the cost of room, board, and books.
will.i.am got the inspiration to create the fund after receiving a big paycheck after deejaying for a party, saying, “I did the math and I could send three kids to school.”
The superstar is known for his impassioned support of social causes, and will offer five students another four-year scholarships for those interested in studying graphics, animation, journalism, film and television. He will offer those students will receive the opportunity to intern at his social networking site Dipdive.com and upon graduation will have the choice of working for the site.
will.i.am said of truly making it wasn’t about the money and how many material things one can purchase, but, “Making it is spreading it.”
