The Broadway cast and band of the Jay-Z, Will Smith & Jada Pinkett-Smith produced musical, Fela!, will go into the studio to record the show’s cast album today.
Producer, Robert Sher will oversee the production of the project for Knitting Factory Records and will be distributed by Sony’s RED label.
The album is schedule for release sometime in June, and follows rave reviews for the show that is based on the life of late legendary African singer-songwriter, composer, social and Civil Rights activist Fela Anikulapo-Kuti.
