It’s time for a new feature section “Spotlight On Icons.” Generally it’ll be an old school video clip and the highlight of an artist or a quick discussion on something from back in the day that brings us a sense of ease.
In our first post for this category we’ve decided to honor The one and only, “The Songstress,” Anita Baker. This is video is “Sweet Love” from her critically acclaimed smash sophomore album Rapture.
If I’ve said it once I’ll say it again. If you’re a fan of true blue R&B you must own Rapture.. I’ve been through four copies in my lifetime. I’ve been the victim of “let me borrow it” scam too many times that I don’t let this out of my site and it’s on all my computers.
The eight time Grammy award winner is definitely someone to be treasured. One of the most rich and smoky voices in the business Anita has proved she has the staying power and and for all the right reasons. Her voice is a priceless instrument I never get tired of. We salute Ms. Baker.
