AT&T Has Hottest Phone – Customer Service Not So Much

AT&T iPhone
Communications Goliath AT&T in a recent consumer survey has received not so good marks in the customer service division.

The survey was conducted in 26 cities with 50,000 people being surveyed and 19 cities reporting AT&T the lowest overall in customer satisfaction.

Cities from New York to San Francisco took part, with Verizon at the top of the heap with a satisfaction score of 75, then T-Mobile with a score of 70, which could be contributed to them having 24 hour customer support. Sprint followed with 67 and AT&T score was one notch below with 66.

Sprint as well as AT&T have been trying hard in recent years to bolster their customer service. Sprint announced several layoffs over the last several months and that they’re also putting a lot of effort into lifting their customer service.

AT&T’s failure has been attributed to several factors including, dropped-call frequency, voice service, circuit capacity and service availability.

AT&T and Verizon have been going back and forth recently with their holiday advertisements. Verizon claiming that AT&T’s 3G coverage is not so great and AT&T shooting back with a new spot starring actor Luke Wilson refuting Verizon’s claims.

Verizon also recently teamed up with Google to release the smartphone the Android which has been highly touted by technology gurus. It will be interesting to see if sales for the Android will outpaced AT&T’s exclusive iPhone.
